SHP's Summer Literacy

Page history last edited by Vickie Sutton 6 mos ago

“Teachers work too hard during the school year to achieve reading gains for their students. It makes no sense to let these gains slip away during the summer.”

          -Bob Holl, Publisher & Co-Founder, Learning A-Z

"Don't lock up the books all summer. It's often the best collection of age-appropriate books around."

-Richard Allington, Former president of International Reading Association

So...

...the media center at Snow Hill Primary will be open one morning a week over the summer. On WEDNESDAYs from 9:00-12:00, students can check out books, sit and read books and magazines, take AR tests (scores will not count for the regular school year), use the laptops to access educational websites, etc. and just enjoy reading!
